After years of making cool and successful flash games we decided it was about time to switch to a new market. It all started back in 2009 when we released our first flash game. Since then, we released many games, and some of them were quite successful: miniTowerDefence had over 10 million plays and, at that time, had an innovative gameplay. Then we released Glean and Glean 2 which also were quite popular and we gathered a strong community around them.
We had a good run in the good-old flash gaming industry and now we aim to become legends in the mobile gaming world as well. Our general approach to mobile will be to leverage our flash gaming experience and bring innovative ideas from the flash world an put them in your hands.
Moreover, we believe we cracked the code of successful games, and here is the recipe: to bring at least one unique thing to the game (either gameplay, audio or story), great balancing and passion for making games. And if you want to really have a hit, this is the secret: fine-tune the game until you reach a point when it’s neither too easy (because then it would be boring) and neither too hard, but still fun to play. Of course it’s much easier to say than to actually do it, but we have achieved this with our previous games, and they were loved by millions.
We will bring all these elements together in our first mobile game. It will be called Nyctophobia and it will be released on the 1st of September on both iTunes and GooglePlay.
Nyctophobia is a one of a kind, very simple turn-based RPG born out of one of the most common fears in the world, the fear of darkness. It combines an innovative gameplay with awesome & scary sound effects.
The story of the game revolves around the journey to the core of the Earth of a murdered imprisoned in a dark cell for the past 20 years in the Ancient Greece. His name is Nycto. He is now the last chance of humankind as the Earth was attacked by a huge creature who had stolen the magic artifact that kept the world in balance.
As for the gameplay, the aim is to fight monsters and find the key needed to descent to the next level. The catch is that you are literally in the dark as you can see just a few tiles around you and you have limited stamina. So, you kind of have to find the key and the exit fast unless you love dying.
The game is single player, endless and the maps get bigger as you go further into the game. You’ll be able to purchase packs with cards and equip your hero, but not to worry: it’s not a pay-to-win game. You can get all the money you need by killing in-game monsters, we don’t even intend to sell gold. It’s a tough challenge, but a fun one also.
We also had a lot of fun making a trailer video. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do:
